Services & Membership

BASA recognises and supports all arts disciplines-visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, film, craft, music, song and dance in many different ways:

  • We assist arts projects in their approach to business by helping them to understand the sponsorship environment and the needs of the private sector;

  • We help develop their business skills through a voluntary scheme in which business people may mentor individuals within an arts organisation;

  • We lobby the media to increase coverage of South African arts;

  • We conduct research into the attitudes of the general public, the corporate sector and the media to inform practice within the arts;

  • We support conferences and events that directly benefit the arts including the Arts and Culture Marketing Conference, Corporate Governance, Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition, and Artstrack research;

  • BASA Mentorship, is a business-arts mentorship programme, an important offering to our arts organisations;

  • We provide arts organisations with vital information in easy to understand documents which may otherwise not be easily accesabible.
