The Market Theatre Foundation, an internationally renowned award winning premier performing and visual arts institution situated in Johannesburg, seeks a dynamic and visionary leader for the post of Chief Executive Officer. The successful applicant must be an efficient strategist and a customer–oriented person with a high level of probity and integrity.

Required Competencies

Proven ability to manage staff at senior management level *Proven ability to develop and implement policies, systems and procedures *Experience in working with budgets and managing income and expenditure in line with the PFMA *Proven ability to manage arts and culture organisations within the framework of the Cultural Institutions Act *Experience in reporting to Council/Board and corporate governance principles *Proven ability / Experience of competitive fundraising and marketing within arts and culture fields *Experience in working with HR transformation matters *Excellent strategic planning and report writing skills *Excellent communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills *5 years experience of working in the arts and culture sector *At least code 8 drivers’ licence *Computer literacy *A postgraduate degree in Humanities, Social Science or Management Sciences.

A competitive remuneration package will be offered depending on experience.
