Makarapa is opening a large 1400sqm Makarapa factory in Wynberg in two weeks time. Inspired by soccer and township life in South Africa, our team of highly talented artists creates pieces that reflect our rich heritage. Each magnificent work of art is a labour of love- the culmination of numerous hours of patient, detailed work.

They will require
- artists
- base painters
- sign writers
- cutters

Their goal is to drive this product and other social based arts projects beyond the World Cup we will continue many different capacities. The makarapas are completed under the watchful eye of Alfred Baloyi - the original designer and founder of the makarapa™ helmet concept. Not only is Alfred a hero in the working class community, he is internationally recognised as the creator of the makarapa™ helmet concept and the person behind the ideas and designs that you have seen in the stadiums of South Africa to TV and print commercials worldwide.
