Hold onto your hats as South Africa’s top comic is coming to Cape Town. John Vlismas, the most celebrated, award winning and prolific comic, is hosting the upcoming Old Mutual Comedy Encounters at the Baxter Theatre from 25 March to 1 April.

The line up consists of top proponents from the comic world, including Trevor Noah, Eugene Khosa, Brendan Murray, Zinzi Mangweni and Brent Palmer. Top UK physical comedy act, Men in Coats, completes the line up.

Following on from the success of past Comedy Encounters, the 2010 edition of the Old Mutual Comedy Encounters, presented by Heart 104.9fm, has doubled in size and runs over eight consecutive dates.

Best described as a riotous comedy festival celebrating local comedy, the show is an extension of Old Mutual’s arts sponsorship and coincides with the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon, which takes place over the Easter weekend.

The Festival, which ran to full houses last year, is a celebration of South African stand up talent. Tickets cost R100 and can be booked through Computicket or purchased at the door on show night. For more information, visit Old Mutual Comedy Encounters.
