Joburg Theatre’s space.com Steps Up!

This is the second edition of the project. Community theatre groups are given the opportunity to utilise space.com’s black box theatre, win a cash amount and receive mentorship from professionals as well as support from the different technical departments within the theatre.

“Due to the amazing success of the 2009 talent search, we felt it important to once again afford community theatre groups the opportunity to give life and a voice to our black box theatre stage,” says the theatre community development co-ordinator Jabu Gwebu. "This year we are also very honoured to work with three leading theatre professionals; Fiona Ramsay, Vanessa Cooke and John Latha as mentors."

The talent search will showcase six exciting new works directed by young people from community theatre, chosen through an audition process.
