While many may question the relevance of a financial institution as one of the main sponsors of Design Indaba, for Absa, who has sponsored the international design summit for the past three years, the answer is easy. It’s because they place innovation at the core of all they do as a brand.

This is evident in the number of awards Absa won last year at the 2009 Financial Innovation Awards and also the committed support they give with all their sponsorships within the arts and lifestyle portfolio.

Absa is dedicated to helping creative’s take courage. For every designer, each day brings with it potential obstacles that stand in the way of great design. Be they the client, the budget, technology, the deadline or self-doubt, they must be overcome if world-changing ideas are ever to see the light of day.

The reality is, more often than not, designers are no match for these mighty foes.

Now, Absa is giving designers that which they have always wanted and more importantly, needed… the chance to fight back!

With the first ever arcade game-based ad campaign, designers will get to go head-to-head with the nemeses of design and battle for a better world.

So if you want to overcome the client’s demands, if you think you can beat the budget, if you’ve got the skill to take on technology, the time to defeat the deadline and the will to send self-doubt packing, summon your courage now and play Design Fights at the Design Indaba between the 24th and 26th February 2010 or play online at designindaba.com/designfights from the 24th February.

In further driving home the message that design takes courage, Absa are asking creative’s if they have the courage to showcase their artwork permanently - on their bodies!
Creative’s have a chance to design their own tattoo and get inked for free* at the Absa stand during the Design Indaba Expo.

The Absa stand will also host artworks from the Absa L’Atelier and showcase the works of last year’s Big Fish film school students who fall under one of the many Absa CSI projects.

Absa is a proud sponsor of Design Indaba.
