BASA Basics

The BASA Basics Programme takes on the form of hands on mentoring of individual artists and arts organisations by Business and Arts South Africa staff members and professional practitioners and includes information sharing workshops, lectures and networking opportunities.

Entrepreneurs in the planning phase are given the opportunity to schedule an appointment where they can obtain information and guidelines for starting a business in the creative industries. BASA Basics endeavour to provide individuals or groups with the skills to successfully prepare a business plan, sponsorship proposals and legally register their organisation. Please note, Business and Arts South Africa does not undertake to prepare any documents or do fundraising on behalf of an individual or group and assistance should be seen as information sharing and the transfer of skills.

From time to time Business and Arts South Africa implements workshops and lectures which is identified based on the needs of artists and arts organisations in South Africa. These workshops and/or lectures will be announced in the Press, on this page of our website and circulated to the Business and Arts South Africa database. To receive these notifications please ensure that you are registered for the Business and Arts South Africa Newsletter. To register please click here.

For more information or to book your appointment please e-mail Carol Mokwena at carol@basa.co.za or call 011 832 3039 / 3041.
