Awards Guidelines

THE RULES AND GUIDELINES

 

• The Awards are open to all companies sponsoring arts events, projects or organisations in South Africa, and all companies sponsoring South African arts events overseas.


• There is no nomination fee.


• The sponsorship must have taken place between 01 January 2010 and 31 December 2010; this includes long-term or ongoing sponsorships current during that period.


• Mediums include - Visual arts, dance, theatre, physical performance, music, architecture, fashion, design and all forms of creativity appropriate to the understanding of the arts.


• The nomination can be completed by the sponsoring business and/or the recipient arts organisation.


• A sponsorship programme or project may not be nominated or entered in more than TWO categories.


• Supporting material, high-res images and logos will be required. This is both to assist the judges as well as for publicity purposes. Entries will not be considered complete, without images.


• Where sponsorship of a project, event or organisation has been shared, all sponsoring companies are eligible for nomination. A separate form should be used for each sponsoring company.


• Projects may be nominated on a year on year basis, as part of Business and Arts South Africa’s sustainability strategy, regardless of previous wins.


• Nominations must be submitted online. No hardcopy nominations will be processed.


• The closing date for completion of online nomination is 20 May 2011.


• The organisers reserve the right to add or withdraw award categories at their discretion. All arrangements are correct at time of going to press.


• The judges reserve the right to shift entries to different categories should they deem it more appropriate than the category in which the entry was submitted.This will only be done with the consent of the entrant.


• The judges’ decisions will be final, and no discussion or correspondence will be entered into concerning the results.


• The Awards will be presented at a ceremony in Johannesburg on 29 August 2011. A shortlist of the nominees in each category will be published towards the end of July 2011,and the winners will be announced at the ceremony.


• Business and Arts South Africa may use information and images (excluding confidential financial information) for publicity purposes.

By submitting a nomination the nominator agrees to abide by the terms, conditions, rules and regulations governing the Awards scheme and declare that the information provided by the nominator is true and correct.
