About the Awards
The Awards, jointly sponsored by Business Day and Business and Arts South Africa and supported by Anglo American, recognise and encourage excellence and innovation in the field of business support for the arts.
These are the thirteenth annual BASA awards with twelve categories, each of equal value. In each case, a specially commissioned work of art will be given to the winning sponsor. The categories may be subject to change.
BASA will appoint an independent panel of judges. The judges will evaluate the success of each sponsorship in achieving the objectives of the sponsor, and in bringing genuine benefits to the arts organisation. Factors such as the innovative nature of the sponsorship will be taken into account.
Any financial information will remain confidential.
The online Nomination Form must be completed in full before the closing date on 21 May 2010.
Finalist Nomination Co-ordinators need to make themselves available to present at the final judging session.
A shortlist of nominations in each category will be published in July 2010. The Awards will be presented at a ceremony in Johannesburg in August 2010.
2010 sees the Awards launch a brand new, easy to use online nomination process to facilitate ease of entry. The Awards section features guidelines, rules and regulations and the online nomination forms.
Please read the rules carefully, and we look forward to receiving your nominations,
Peter Bruce, Editor of Business Day & Michelle Constant, Chief Executive Officer of Business and Arts South Africa
