Emerging Theatre Directors bursary applications
The Gordon Institute for Performing and Creative Arts (GIPCA), Theatre Arts Admin Collective and the Baxter Theatre Centre are calling for applications.
The 2012 Emerging Theatre Director’s Bursary offers an emerging theatre director a mentor, a small budget, a month’s rehearsal space and a week of performance at the Theatre Arts Admin Collective. It is recommended that directors work with already existing scripts as the month-long period has proved insufficient for devised work.

The Supporting Grant Scheme is the Department of Arts and Culture’s arts sponsorship initiative managed by Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) to develop business sponsorship of the arts. The Grant is an incentive for the business to sponsor, because its purpose is to provide additional funds to the arts organisation so that the artist can offer benefit or value to the business.The arts organisation and sponsor should discuss together ways of identifying opportunity through the sponsored programme for their mutual benefit. Calling African filmmakers and film critics
Superimposing an African imagination on filmmaking, the 5th Talent Campus Durban (20-24 July) will ignite the creativity of 40 selected filmmakers from Africa.
They will participate in a series of masterclasses, workshops and industry networking opportunities during the Durban International Film Festival. Talent Campus Durban entices filmmakers to enhance skills, develop collaborations and interface with the dynamic future of the film industry in Africa, and the world.

The Writers Worshop - VANSA
VANSA KZN (Visual Arts Network of South Africa) Presents THE WRITERS WORKHOP To be held on 18 & 19 FEBRUARY 2012 at THE COLLECTIVE To be run by PETER MACHEN Peter Machen is one of South Africa's leading arts writers. Multitalented Machen is also a layout artist and publication designer, photographer and editor.
