About the Project:
The DREAMERS project is led by street artist and photographer Justin Tellian, who has worked under photographers Mark Seliger and Steven Klein. Since 2008, he has been gathering large groups of participants in cities around the world to unite them in iconic group portraits that celebrate their power to dream. In each city, Justin gathers anyone who identifies as a dreamer regardless of background, age, or lifestyle. He considers the Dreamers shoots a mixture of celebration and mise en scene. Everyone is invited to bring their creative input to the experience, and the result is an unforgettable moment for all those who participate. The project has travelled to Mexico City, Berlin, Black Rock City (Burning Man), and Tokyo. Johannesburg is the final international city before the final portrait is taken in New York. All the portraits will then be revealed in a worldwide exhibit via partnerships with arts institutions in each city.

About Trust Art:
Trust Art was introduced at the TED Conference in 2009. The New York-based initiative is championing a new economic model for public art by issuing shares in 10 pilot projects on its platform. Trust Art invites regular people to become ‘shareholders’ in these large-scale art projects by contributing small donations, in-kind gifts, or volunteer time. Shareholders share in all of the economic benefits of the projects, including the proceeds from the official auction of artworks and other collectibles associated with each project. For the Johannesburg chapter of the DREAMERS project, Trust Art is bringing official stock certificates for all those who collaborate in the project, especially by donating white fabric and volunteering their time and creativity the day of the shoot to help make white outfits for children in need.
