Backsberg Picnic Concerts introduces new acts
Event Date: 22 January - 19 February 2012.
Published by Business and Arts South Africa
Continually looking for ways to innovate and keep things fresh, Backsberg has added a twist to the series this year; each of the bands is asked to bring along an up and coming band to open for them.
Part I of the series saw a glimpse of the future of South African music through acts such as Janie Bay and Shen FM.
The perfect wine to have at these concerts is similarly fresh and innovative. Backsberg produces South Africa’s first wine bottled in PET, Tread Lightly by Backsberg.
Ideal for picnics and other outdoor events Backsberg produces a Chenin Blanc, a Sauvignon Blanc and a Merlot in the range. These are all available for purchase at the concerts.
Part II of the series kicked off on 22 January after the short festive season break and runs every Sunday through to 19 February 2012.
Pack your umbrella and picnic blankets as kykNET and Backsberg take care of the rest. Patrons can choose to pre-book a Backsberg picnic, or buy one of the famous lamb burgers at the venue. And, of course, it‘s just better with a glass of Tread Lightly by Backsberg.
Admission to concert venue starts at 15:00, with the opening act starting at 16:00 and the main act at 17:00. For directions, comments, and more information on the series, please visit www.facebook.com/BacksbergConcerts
Pre-sale tickets for the concerts and picnics are available from www.ticketbreak.co.za/backsberg. Pre-sale tickets are R85 or R170 with a picnic and R100 at the gate. Children under 12 years get in free when accompanied by their parents. The kykNET chair jumping castle and expansive Backsberg lawn to run and play on, ensures that children also have fun while their parents enjoy the music.
